03 — About

Biography

Born in 2001 in Lagos, Oladeji Racheal Solape is a Nigerian visual artist whose work explores identity, emotion, and the expressive power of color. Although her academic background is rooted in agriculture and finance, art has always remained a personal refuge, a space for self-expression, storytelling, and creative freedom.

Deeply inspired by African culture and the Black experience, Solape’s work bridges traditional African symbolism with contemporary visual expression. Through bold color palettes, striking compositions, and emotionally charged imagery, her pieces reflect the vibrancy of African life while exploring themes of identity, visual rebellion, beauty, and cultural presence.

Her practice seeks to create work that is both intimate and powerful, celebrating Blackness, individuality, and the emotional language of color through a distinctly modern lens.
